3. A Thread Mill & Stair Climber!! I have been working on the wife to turn the basement into a work-out area. She finally gave me the green light!! I already had a thread mill, but it was not the best for running. Didn’t have much shock absorption and the track was on the shorter side. Through a couple ‘connections’ I came across some used equipment that was in great shape at an unbelievable price (little bit of money and you have to haul it away). I got a tread mill and two stair climbers (one was for a buddy that helped with the hauling). Word of caution when buying exercise equipment like this… measure stuff out and plan ahead. The items I got are commercial-type equipment and a little bigger than home-type. The tread mill took 4 guys to haul it into my basement… it weighed a ton. The climber was easily enough to move around, but it’s height might be a concern for the future. Our basement is yet unfinished and only has rafters for the ceiling. With the addition of sheetrock and light fixtures, there is a good chance I will hit my head while at the top of the climber. Oh well… those aren’t very bad ‘problems’ all things considered.
