2002 Bike Projects:

Fixie: Using an early 90s Nishiki frame & fork. After 3+ hours of sand blasting, I’m almost ready for some painting. The paint was about as tough as it comes… didn’t come off very easy at all!! I hope to have the frame/fork painted by early spring and then start piecing the bike together when budget permits. I planned to build a wheel set up from scratch this winter, but have decided to put that off until Fall/Winter. I’m looking to have this bike rolling around Jan. 1st, 2003.

Bad Weather/Winter Bike: Using an early/mid 80s Schwinn frame & fork. Paint came off like it was dried mud compared to the Nishiki frame. If I had to guess, I would have thought it would’ve been the other way around… Nishiki = bad paint, Schwinn = quality paint. I should already have most everything that I need for this bike. It will be an ‘old school’ bike with mostly original Shimano equipment on it. Gives new meaning to the term ‘ten speed’. The bike should be complete in time for early spring rides… maybe sooner!!
